Sonntgamorgen I made myself with Angela on the way to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. After about 7 hours by car (Inl tank and rest breaks), we arrived in a town called Pigeon Forge just before Gatlinburg. Angela's parents were waiting there
on us. Both go for around 40 years from Gatlinburg.
Pigeon Forge reminded me a little of the "Niagara Falls" on the Canadian side. Lots of attractions for children such as amusement arcades, go-karting and mini golf facilities. We have stayed in one of the typical hotels.
Since we arrived relatively late, was on the first Abend nur noch Zeit fuer ein Abendessen (sehr leckere Hausmannskost) und fuer eine Runde Minigolf. Gleich gegenueber dem Hotel war eine schoen gestaltete Anlage und so hatten wir dann alle maechtig Spass. Klar, dass Angela's Vater, der passionierter Golfer ist, die Runde gewonnen hat. Immerhin wurde ich zweiter ;-)
Am naechsten Tag ging es denn die etwa 5 Meilen anch Gatlinburg. Das Staedtchen liegt wunderschoen in den Haengen der "Smoky Mountains". Generell muss man sagen, dass die Landschaft hier wunderbar ist und ein wenig an den Schwarzwald erinnert.
Gatlinburg selbst ist allerdings weniger spektakulaer als ich es mir vorgestellt hatte. Es gibt zwar einen Sesellift und eine Gondelbahn, ansonsten aber haben the cheap T-shirt shop, the more attractive shops weitgehenst dislodged. But there is such a Hard Rock Cafe!
During the day we did one or the other stop regarding food intake in liquid form, before we went again in the evening back to hotel. went
Tuesday at noon then again on the journey back to Ohio.
